Many older homes in San Antonio were constructed on wooden piers and beams. Unfortunately, these tend to rot over time as moisture and temperature fluctuation under the home have a detrimental effect on wood building materials. For this project, it was necessary to jack up the foundation and replace most of the wooden piers with ones made from reinforced concrete or steel.
